The researchers have found new genes that are linked to obesity. According to one report, researchers found 18 gene variants, which play an important role in propensity of obesity and also reported the involvement of 14 others genes.

Obesity at the work costs $73 billion annually

The proof is in the pudding, literally. A study conducted by Duke university puts the costs of obesity at the workplace at around $73 billion per year. The study showed that over weight employees working full-time tend to cost employers more money due to health problems and lack of productivity.
